The story follows Evey Hammond (Natalie Portman), a young woman who becomes inadvertently involved in the revolutionary plans of a masked vigilante known only as “V” (Hugo Weaving). V is a mysterious and charismatic figure, wearing a Guy Fawkes mask, who seeks to overthrow the fascist government and restore freedom to the people. He is highly skilled in combat and uses theatricality and symbolism to inspire the masses.

V’s plan is to incite a revolution by committing a series of high-profile attacks against the government, including the bombing of key buildings associated with the regime. His ultimate goal is to blow up the Houses of Parliament on November 5th, a symbolic act commemorating Guy Fawkes Day, to inspire the people to rise up against their oppressors.
