Tin & Tina (2023) is a Spanish psychological horror-thriller directed by Rubin Stein, based on his short film of the same name. The film follows Lola (Milena Smit) and Adolfo (Jaime Lorente), a young couple who experience a traumatic miscarriage. Devastated by the loss and unable to conceive again, they decide to adopt two peculiar twin children, Tin and Tina, from a nearby convent. The twins, raised in strict religious doctrine, exhibit unsettling behavior driven by an extreme interpretation of the Bible.
As the couple adjusts to their new family, strange and increasingly disturbing events begin to unfold in their home. Lola, still recovering from the trauma of her miscarriage, becomes particularly unnerved by the children’s sinister actions and begins to question their intentions. Adolfo, however, remains skeptical of her fears, which only adds to the tension between them.
Tin & Tina blends religious fanaticism with psychological terror, using the eerie behavior of the children to create a sense of dread and uncertainty. The film explores themes of faith, trauma, and the nature of evil, building a slow-burning tension that keeps the audience on edge. With its dark atmosphere, unsettling imagery, and strong performances, Tin & Tina delivers a haunting and thought-provoking horror experience.
