The Climax – Hope at the Edge of Despair

The final battle takes place both above and below Earth’s atmosphere. Batman and Wonder Woman lead a massive resistance on the ground while Clark and Kara infiltrate Brainiac’s central core. In a heartbreaking moment, Kara finally understands Clark’s devotion to humanity when she witnesses ordinary people — powerless and fragile — fighting with everything they have to protect each other.

In the decisive moment, Clark chooses Earth, shattering Kandor’s preservation chamber and destroying Brainiac’s ship from within. The act severs his last tangible connection to Krypton, leaving him the sole unpreserved survivor of his race — the last son in truth as well as name.

Kara, now free from vengeance, chooses to remain on Earth, seeking her own place among humanity.
