Pride & Prejudice 2: Pride Harder, set for a lavish holiday 2026 release, reimagines the world of Austen with a daring, adventurous sequel that blends romance, intrigue, and a dash of swashbuckling flair.

Directed by Greta Gerwig and penned by Emerald Fennell, the film reunites Anya Taylor-Joy as the fiercely intelligent Elizabeth Bennet and Dev Patel as a dashing, reform-minded Fitzwilliam Darcy. Set five years after their marriage, Elizabeth and Darcy are enjoying a peaceful life at Pemberley—until a scandalous letter and a series of mysterious attacks on their estate pull them into a plot that could upend the aristocracy.

This sequel introduces Florence Pugh as a rebellious younger Bennet sister with a taste for danger, and Henry Golding as a charming, possibly treacherous naval captain. The sweeping English countryside is brought to life with opulent production design, while the ballroom scenes—now infused with espionage undertones—pulse with tension and passion.

Gerwig has promised a bolder, more adventurous tone without losing the elegance of the original. “It’s still Austen at heart,” she explains, “but we’re letting Elizabeth wield both her wit and her courage in ways Jane might have enjoyed seeing.” Costume designer Jacqueline Durran returns to deliver jaw-dropping Regency fashion, and composer Dario Marianelli is set to weave a lush score that shifts from tender romance to pulse-pounding suspense.
