The green grump is back—and this time, the Whos of Whoville have no idea what’s coming. The Grinch 2, arriving in December 2025, brings the beloved Dr. Seuss character to the big screen once again, with a brand-new holiday tale filled with laughs, heart, and a little bit of chaos.

In this sequel, the Grinch—now (mostly) reformed—is living peacefully in Whoville, enjoying the holidays with his loyal dog Max. But when a flashy new tech tycoon arrives, selling “Instant Christmas” gadgets that promise to make the season perfect without any effort, the true spirit of the holiday begins to fade. Seeing the Whos lose sight of what really matters, the Grinch decides it’s time for one more scheme—this time, to save Christmas rather than steal it.

Benedict Cumberbatch returns to voice the Grinch, bringing both his trademark sarcasm and a surprising touch of warmth. Joining him is Awkwafina as a fast-talking Whoville inventor, and Kenan Thompson as the overly enthusiastic mayor trying to control the holiday chaos.

Visually, the sequel expands Whoville into a bustling, snow-covered metropolis, filled with candy-colored decorations, outrageous new inventions, and slapstick set pieces that promise huge laughs for audiences of all ages. Composer Danny Elfman blends whimsical new songs with classic holiday melodies for a soundtrack that’s as merry as it is mischievous.

Director Chris Meledandri teases that the film will be “a celebration of imperfection” and a reminder that the best part of Christmas is the mess, the laughter, and the love shared between friends and family.
