The first pulse-pounding trailer for The Kiru (2025) has landed, starring global icon Tom Cruise in a role unlike anything he’s done before. Directed by Gareth Evans (The Raid), the film blends blistering martial arts, espionage, and explosive set pieces into a relentless action thriller that pushes Cruise to the very edge of his limits.

Cruise stars as Jack Kiru, a former covert operative who vanishes into Japan’s criminal underworld after a botched mission. Years later, when an international weapons syndicate resurfaces with plans that could destabilize global security, Jack is forced out of hiding. But to stop them, he must embrace the code of the Kiru—a secret order of assassins bound by honor, silence, and death.

Joining Cruise is Hiroyuki Sanada as the Kiru’s enigmatic master, who becomes both mentor and rival. Rina Sawayama delivers a fierce turn as a rogue assassin seeking vengeance, while Cillian Murphy appears as a manipulative intelligence officer who may hold the key to Jack’s redemption—or his destruction.

The trailer explodes with visceral set pieces: sword duels in rain-soaked Tokyo alleys, motorcycle chases through neon-lit streets, and a finale atop a bullet train racing through Mount Fuji.
