A new legend stalks the shadows—Black Tiger (2025) has revealed its first concept trailer, an action-thriller blending martial arts, espionage, and myth into a ferocious cinematic spectacle. Directed by Gareth Evans (The Raid), the film promises bone-crunching action and a mysterious new anti-hero destined to leave his mark.

The story follows Tony Leung as Master Wei, the last guardian of an ancient brotherhood known as the Black Tigers. When his sacred order is betrayed by a global crime syndicate, a new warrior must rise: Lewis Tan as Kai, a skilled but reckless fighter who inherits the mantle of the Black Tiger. Bound by a code of honor and armed with claws of steel, Kai wages war against an empire built on blood and corruption.

Joining the cast is Gemma Chan as an MI6 operative caught between duty and loyalty, Donnie Yen as a rival assassin with his own vendetta, and Mads Mikkelsen as the enigmatic syndicate leader whose ambitions stretch beyond the underworld.

The concept trailer teases jaw-dropping set pieces: rooftop duels under neon skies, jungle ambushes lit by fire, and a climactic battle inside a fortress carved into a mountain. Cinematographer Newton Thomas Sigel fuses gritty realism with operatic visuals, while composer Ramin Djawadi delivers a score pulsing with taiko drums, electronic beats, and haunting strings.

Director Gareth Evans describes Black Tiger as “a story of legacy, vengeance, and the beast within—an action odyssey that claws its way into myth.”

With its mix of Eastern martial arts mystique, brutal modern combat, and star-studded cast, Black Tiger (2025) is shaping up to be one of the year’s most exciting original action epics.
