Seventeen years after the beloved romance that touched millions, Warner Bros. brings audiences back to the windswept shores of the Outer Banks with Nights in Rodanthe 2 (2025). Inspired by the world of Nicholas Sparks, this sequel promises to rekindle the beauty of love, loss, and second chances.

The film follows Amanda (Mandy Moore), the now-grown daughter of Adrienne Willis, who returns to Rodanthe searching for the answers her late mother never found. Staying at the same seaside inn where Adrienne once discovered a fleeting, unforgettable love, Amanda crosses paths with James Lawson (Richard Madden), a widowed doctor also haunted by his past.

What begins as chance encounters on stormy nights grows into something deeper—a connection that challenges them to forgive, to heal, and to open their hearts again beneath the relentless crashing of the waves.

The supporting cast includes Diane Lane in a poignant return through flashbacks as Adrienne, and Scott Eastwood as a local who ties Amanda’s journey to the past. With breathtaking coastal cinematography and a sweeping score by Rachael Portman, the film captures the same emotional magic that made the original unforgettable.

Director Lasse Hallström (Safe Haven, Dear John) calls the sequel “a story about legacy, about how love once lost can inspire new beginnings for the next generation.”
