The film begins with a group of six friends who are traveling through Eastern Europe. They decide to visit the abandoned city of Pripyat, Ukraine, which was evacuated following the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986. Pripyat is known for its eerie, deserted buildings and its status as a site of significant historical and environmental impact.
The group, led by their adventurous friend Chris (played by Jesse McCartney), hires a local guide, Uri (played by Dimitri Diatchenko), to take them on a tour of the exclusion zone surrounding the Chernobyl reactor. Despite warnings about the dangers of radiation and the presence of potential hazards, the group proceeds with their plan, driven by curiosity and the desire for a unique experience.
Once inside Pripyat, the friends explore the deserted city, encountering abandoned buildings, decayed infrastructure, and unsettling reminders of the past disaster. As night falls, they begin to experience strange occurrences and feel that they are being watched. The tension escalates when it becomes clear that they are not alone in the city.
The group soon discovers that they are being hunted by a group of mutated survivors who have been living in the exclusion zone since the disaster. These mutated individuals are hostile and dangerous, and the friends must fight to survive and find a way to escape the city.
