Following the global success of the 2016 animated classic, Disney is bringing Moana to life in a live-action adaptation — retelling the powerful story of a young Polynesian heroine who sets sail to restore the heart of Te Fiti and save her people.

With breathtaking visuals, authentic cultural elements, and updated musical numbers, Moana: Live Action aims to honor the Pacific Island traditions and deliver a bold new take for a new generation.

🎭 Casting So Far:

Maui: Dwayne Johnson will reprise his role as the shape-shifting demigod, a fan-favorite with immense charisma and charm.
Moana: As of now, Auliʻi Cravalho will not play Moana, but she is involved as an executive producer to ensure cultural accuracy and integrity. A new young actress of Polynesian descent will be cast in the lead role.
