Meg 3 – The Ocean’s Apex Predator Evolves

🦈

Bigger teeth. Deeper waters. Deadlier stakes. Meg 3, the next chapter in the giant-shark action saga, will crash into theaters in summer 2026, promising an even wilder ride beneath the waves. Directed by Ben Wheatley (Meg 2: The Trench), this third installment takes the franchise into uncharted—and far more dangerous—territory.

Jason Statham returns as deep-sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor, now working with an elite oceanic research team exploring the Mariana Trench for signs of new life. Their expedition uncovers something far worse than they imagined: a genetically evolved Megalodon with heightened intelligence, faster speed, and an instinct for hunting in packs. As if one monster wasn’t enough, a swarm of apex predators begins rising toward the surface.

Joining Statham are Li Bingbing reprising her role as marine biologist Suyin, Henry Golding as a rival deep-sea explorer with questionable motives, and Emily Blunt as a fearless submersible pilot caught in the crossfire.

The film promises jaw-dropping set pieces, including a deep-ocean rescue in a collapsing thermal vent system, a harrowing battle against multiple Megs at a floating oil platform, and an explosive finale involving a storm-ravaged coastline under siege. The underwater cinematography, combined with cutting-edge CGI, pushes the scale and realism of the Megs to terrifying new heights.

Composer Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL) returns with a thunderous, pulse-pounding score to match the film’s relentless pace.

Director Ben Wheatley teases: “We’ve made the ocean scarier than ever—because now, the Megs aren’t just hunting… they’re thinking.”
