The Raven’s Curse – Fear Takes Flight

⚡
A new gothic nightmare spreads its wings—The Raven’s Curse (2025) has unveiled its chilling first trailer, directed by horror maestro Scott Derrickson (The Black Phone, Sinister). Blending supernatural dread with psychological terror, the film promises an atmospheric descent into folklore, madness, and death.
Set in a fog-shrouded New England town in 1893, the story follows Eva Green as Margaret Holloway, a grieving widow who begins to experience strange visions after a black raven perches nightly outside her window. As villagers vanish under mysterious circumstances, whispers grow of an ancient curse bound to the raven—a harbinger of death feeding on despair.
Bill Skarsgård co-stars as Elias Crane, a haunted detective sent to unravel the truth, only to discover his own family’s ties to the legend. Anya Taylor-Joy plays a clairvoyant torn between helping Margaret and protecting herself from the darkness, while Willem Dafoe appears as the town’s reclusive priest, guarding secrets that may be older than the town itself.
The trailer teases haunting imagery: flocks of ravens blotting out the moon, candlelit rituals in abandoned churches, and a climax where shadow and feather merge into a monstrous, unholy form. Cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema drenches the film in gothic hues of ash and crimson, while composer Bear McCreary delivers a score of mournful strings, pounding drums, and ghostly chants.
Director Derrickson calls The Raven’s Curse “a horror fable about grief, faith, and the terrifying price of secrets kept too long.”
With its chilling atmosphere, powerhouse cast, and folklore-inspired terror, The Raven’s Curse (2025) looks destined to be one of the year’s most haunting horror events.
