Ballerina (2025) – From the World of John Wick

Lionsgate has unveiled the highly anticipated trailer for Ballerina (2025), the first John Wick spin-off feature, and it promises the same stylish brutality, emotional depth, and relentless action that made the franchise a global phenomenon. Directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld), this chapter dives deeper into the deadly ballet of assassins.

Ana de Armas stars as Rooney, a young assassin trained in the legendary Ruska Roma ballet academy, the same brutal underworld that forged John Wick himself. When her family is murdered, Rooney embarks on a bloody path of revenge—balancing grace, precision, and savagery in a world where every step is a kill.

The cast is stacked with powerhouse names:

  • Keanu Reeves returns as John Wick in an extended cameo, crossing paths with Rooney in her journey.

  • Anjelica Huston reprises her role as the Director, guiding Rooney through the discipline of violence.

  • Ian McShane returns as Winston, with Lance Reddick in one of his final performances as Charon, the Continental’s loyal concierge.

  • Gabriel Byrne joins as the shadowy villain pulling strings from the High Table.

The trailer teases breathtaking set pieces: a knife duel in a candlelit opera house, a rooftop chase across neon-drenched Prague, and Rooney’s elegant yet vicious combat style that fuses dance with assassination. Composer Marco Beltrami weaves a haunting score of orchestral strings and pounding industrial beats, giving the action both elegance and fury.

Director Len Wiseman calls the film “a violent symphony—where every move is choreographed, every kill a performance.”

With its blend of artistry, brutality, and world-expanding storytelling, Ballerina (2025) is shaping up to be an essential chapter in the John Wick universe.
